We Are What We Eat?

Your body is a wonderland…when you have the right bacteria.

Okay, so it sounded a little more romantic when John Mayer said it, but it’s my job to serve the facts.

Recent studies show that an imbalance of bacteria in the gut leads to poor blood sugar control.

Scientists have found that there is a molecule produced by our bacteria that live in our guts that plays a role in the way that the liver sends glucose into the blood.

So…blood sugar is more than what’s on our plate. It’s about gut health too. Quick tips on how to nurture a healthy gut:

  • take a soil-based probiotic (consider ordering the soil-based probiotic Probiospore, which you can get from Fullscript)
  • eat fermented foods daily
  • eat less sugar
  • process stress levels (yoga!)
  • support a good sleep routine (Insomnitol has been the best sleep nutrition I have come across. It has l-theanine, melatonin, 5-htp and is a helpful blend to slow down a busy mind and get good rest)

Growing up with Type 1 Diabetes has profoundly influenced my path, converting my personal struggles into a dedicated mission to uplift others navigating the same condition. My goal? Helping you move past managing your diabetes to a place where you’re confidently thriving—and where T1D is just a part of your story, not the whole thing.
