10 Rules for Optimal Health

  1. Adopt/Master a morning routine: this does not mean you need to wake up with the sun. I means, create a routine that works for you.
  2. Eat 5 servings of vegetables a day.  A serving is 1/2 cup of cooked vegetable, or 1 cup of raw.
  3. Consume foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 fats are essential fats, meaning our body can not make them, and we need to get it from our food supply. Think grassfed steak, beef, pork and poultry, along with wild fish, along with some flaxseeds and walnuts (while the latter takes a lot more energy and through digestion, only a small percent of the fat is converted to omega 3s, still worth mentioning). Eat fish 3 times a week.
  4. Avoid sugar from your diet. The better you eliminate the better you are off.
  5. Use spices in your meals.
  6. Eat with the sun.
  7. Move daily.
  8. Hydrate.
  9. Socialize.
